Pharr, Texas – The team with FIRST RGV, INC is gearing up for the very exciting 2017-2018 competitive robotics season. The Rio Grande Valley (RGV) science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) group of professionals announced their season kick off that is scheduled to be September 9, 2017 at Vanguard Academy in Pharr, Texas. Participants of this premiere program get training in how to build, code / program their robot to to perform various tasks in a very competitive robotics program.
This is the first year that FIRST robotics has been at this premiere RGV charter school. We are proud to partner with Dr Narciso Garcia, superintendent of Vanguard Academy for the kick off event and have even gotten them setup with four FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams, said Jason Arms, CEO of FIRST RGV, INC.
This year, FIRST RGV is expecting to have more than 230 teams across its four programs.
The kick off event is:
FIRST Lego League (FLL) – Sept 9, 2017 – 9am – 11am
FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) – Sept 9, 2017 – 1pm-3pm
This event is open to the public and all teams, coaches and school administration across the RGV is invited / encouraged to attend.
