Season Registration for 2019

McAllen, Texas – We are excited to be just hours away from the Star Wars inspired FIRST RISE season registration launch on May 7, 2019 at 11am CT.

This is going to be lots of fun for not just the students but for the adults as well while we all work to become a Force for Change in our community.

The Force is Building and here is a great guide to ensure you are successful for the 2019 – 2020 season.

Important Changes This Season:

FIRST Lego League Jr – There are no planned changes to this coming season.

FIRST Lego League – We will see significant changes this season to our FIRST Lego League program. Teachers will be provided program materials in more of a packaged manner that will help them to easily facilitate the program without the need to download hundreds of pages of resources. Coaches can expect to receive pre-printed engineering notebooks for students and a class guide for themselves. There is also “lessons” incorporated into the EV3 Programming software that teachers can use as benchmarks. There is significant changes to the judging process for this season as well.

To register a team, it is a two part process:

FIRST Tech Challenge – There are changes to advancement and representation at higher level events

FIRST Tech Challenge will change this year. Teams will still have all three league meets, a league tournament and then, based on if they advanced from their League Tournament, attend a regional event in the Rio Grande Valley. From there, we will advance teams directly to the FIRST World Championship on April 2020. More specifics will be released at the season kick off on September 7, 2019.
